Been on the sober train for 8 weeks, you gotta create your own fun, and ignore the hate of it. You may not be in the same circumstances but the amount of people that said I’m a more fun person or exciting person drunk, than I am sober, is not the environment I want to surround myself with. Remember if you surround yourself around a garbage dump you’re going to smell like one. If you surround yourself in a perfume shop, you’ll smell like pretty perfume. Think about it. 😉

I’d rather be boring and get ahead in life than chance spending the rest of my life needing to self medicate with liquid poison to numb the suffering of living a life I hate. Find friends that can have fun doing things you like without needing alcohol to do it.

Same here as a 29 year old man. It used to get to me too. I just remind them that if they need alcohol to have fun they might have a problem, lol. It's weird that NOT drinking literal poison is looked down upon.

I’m 29 and just passed the 24 hour mark since my last drink after a 5 day bender. I feel you, I can’t drink like a normal person and it sucks but alcohol is poison so maybe it’s for the better
