Do not put any money in a checking account. a checking account is absolutely useless. Just use a HYSA as one if you must.

Pro tip - you need all of these accounts working together! Build an emergency fund in a high yield savings account first (3-6 months of your fixed living expenses) then max as much out your tax advantaged accounts every year (401k, ROTH IRA, HSA) THEN go to invest in a traditional taxable brokerage account 🥰! Also only do all of this once you’ve paid off high interest debt otherwise you’re trying to float on a boat filled with holes letting water in

My employer matches my 401k up to 6%. I’m barely going to start pouring into a Roth IRA. Should I keep it at 6% till I max out Roth IRA this year?

The silent risk of automated creative scaling is algorithmic offer degradation. When AI tools rapidly iterate to beat existing conversion benchmarks, they naturally gravitate toward friction-reducing levers like steep discounts, free add-ons, or exaggerated urgency, because those elements generate the quickest statistical wins for the machine. The dashboard celebrates lower acquisition costs, but over two quarters, you end up quietly training both the platform's algorithm and your audience to only convert on margin-crushing promotions, gradually killing your product's pricing power without anyone noticing the strategy shifted.

You can also do a ROTH 401k. There are ROTH and traditional IRAs and 401ks for different income levels. Also a HYSA should only be used for your expenses and emergency fund. With inflation at 3% and it being taxable income, a HYSA mitigates purchase power erosion but doesn’t “earn more”
