you don't need maintenance cuts, unless your hair has split ends. every 1/2" cut is like a month or two of growing back.

If he is intending to grow his hair out, the cut was a big mistake. In my opinion, he didn't look bad at all before the cut and lost a lot of length after it, making the process of hair growth way slower.

It was too much. Maybe on purpose.. but it’s a completely different style now, it would have been enough to just cut it in the middle.. not from the sides. But I’m not a barber
