I’m convinced that avoidants are just narcissists in training. She was exactly like this. 3 years wasted. She’s just like her mom and I was played and fooled.

that sounds like a narcissist, avoidants get overwhelmed and struggle but they aren't necessarily cruel or manipulative. narcissists are manipulative and consistent victims, part of the mental illness.

Trust me, they live in their own hell an anxious attachment that was once secure. The first one was a dismissive avoidant that completely gave me broken heart syndrome, which was a minor heart attack in the second one she got pregnant found out she was a fearful avoidant had a abortion broke up with me over text message a week later because her mommy is in her ear. Trust me my whole nervous system is completely shot. All I have is my job in my guitar and empty house to come home to every night. You just have to get past it & time is the ultimate healer.

I told my therapist I was afraid to leave bc I would lose it all. He told me “your fear of abandonment told you that, but look at all that you have gained. Now that you’re not trying to fix her you can fix yourself and truly focus on you and your kids” and so true.
