I’ve gone thru the same weight loss journey. Being thinner opened up additional options in the dating pool, but the people who will only date someone externally beautiful are shallow people. So you gain a disproportionate amount of shallow people in your dating pool when you decrease your size. They may also look hotter, but hotter people aren’t necessarily quality people.

Mind you, fat women are just as “hot” as skinny women. They constantly talk about how they actually get just as much “attention,” but the problem is men are embarrassed to be seen with them in public. But most importantly: attraction doesn’t matter!! We all need to eat!! Eating is a privilege! Some of the best chefs in the world are bigger for a gd reason.

my best friend is plus sized. we’ve been friends for 25 years and to this day she refuses to have meals in public when we meet. she is so afraid of being judged that she will just sit there with a coffe whilst i gorge on food. i have assured her many times that she will always have my support but her insecurities are so deeply entrenched that she has not been able to fully live for almost 40 years. she is the kindest, most loving person ever but society has made her a recluse.

It’s projection. People hate themselves and don’t allow themselves to be happy until they’re “fixed” themselves. So when they see people who love themselves already without having “earned” it (in accordance with their views) they resent them
