Im a paramedic, 5 years ago I had 4 therapy options to deal with the trauma thats inflicted on my brain from the job. 1) Go to therapy an inflict the same trauma second hand on someone 2) Become an alcoholic 3) Quit the profession I love 4) Buy a boat and go to weekly therapy sessions on the lake 10 minutes from my house. So, I bought my boat, saved my liver from cirrhosis, and I keep doing what I love. It's a win win.

You can be smart about it. I know post covid caused the market to go nuts but our previous and current boat appreciated. We’ve owned our current since 2020 and I could sell tomorrow for at least $15k more than we paid

Boats, trailers, cars, trucks,and toys. The trick is to buy older, depreciated assets. That was high quality at the time. Then you got to be able to do the maintenance on your own. Very affordable. Example, 20 year motorhome, Monaco, $265k new, buy for 65k now. Upgrade and maintenance.
