• Many also provide heat protection What they don’t do:
They don’t suffocate your hair (hair is dead tissue and doesn’t “breathe.”)
They don’t permanently damage healthy hair. They don’t stop moisture from getting in when your hair is properly washed. The key is balance. If you use silicone-based products regularly, clarify your hair every week or two (or as needed based on your routine) to remove buildup. Silicones aren’t the enemy.
