Both light skinned and dark skinned people can experience discrimination based on their skin tone. However, light skinned people generally do not experience colorism in the same way because colorism refers to discrimination or prejudice that typically favors lighter skin over darker skin within the same racial or ethnic group. That’s common knowledge BUT that also doesn’t mean light skinned people can’t face prejudice or stereotypes. It just isn’t usually what’s meant by colorism. It isn’t a competition over who has it worse. 😭
