Hug the Universe :
What a brilliant description. I had an epiphany recently where I realized a sort of inverted version of what you’re describing here. I tend to be aggravated and even aggressive while driving (not road rage, but definitely road grump), and I realized it’s because I’m ALWAYS in a hurry, and then realized I don’t actually have anywhere I have to get by a certain time, it’s a perpetual fight/flight from my childhood growing up in a cult where the world was always just about to end and I was being judged and watched. So I’ve been driven my entire life by this idea that time is running out and something horrible is about to happen, so I better hurry trying to get to safety. Bananas how that shit can drive us for decades and decades and decades. 😳

Kate you survive , you choose to live. Pack your own parachute. Do not allow anyone else to pack your parachute. Dean

What a fantastic analogy! I have been recently diagnosed with CPTSD and I too have been I. Fight or flight and I’m stuck. It’s so hard sometimes I’m 56 and I’m tired. 🥰

Thank you for sharing. Sadly, we do not teach children how to be mindful. They become adults that are unable to process trauma.

Fee the amputee. :
Wow, I get this. I’ve been like it since I was10, I’m 42. I thought my amputation was the end of me but than I had a cardiac arrest due to hospital negligence, I al,ost died, the amputation was nothing (at the time) I’ve needed to talk to heal and my friend would say I shouldn’t complain to you and I always say why? We all go through hard times, we should talk about it. I love your constant and feel it healing knowing we are all trying. Xxx

My mom died when I was 7, my dad was an alcoholic I was the youngest of 4. Fight or flight kicked in, then my dad married 6 months later to a woman who had 6 kids. I was 2nd to the youngest. I completely got lost in the shuffle. I’ve been fighting or flight since a kid, I’m now 62… it just sticks with you I guess..

I lived with years of fear that my un-medicaded Bipolar Dad would just show up at my home and hurt me or my children, every day locking the door, every day wondering where he was... Will he just show up and cause pain? The years have been spent in fear.
