@kelseyalfred: 🩶✨ hip replacement recovery: day 7 💙 One week post-op, and today I’m talking about my experience with pain and pain management. Everyone’s recovery is different, and pain levels can vary significantly from person to person depending on things like the type of surgery, individual health, and how your body responds to the procedure. What I’m experiencing isn’t necessarily what someone else will experience. I’m sharing my experience to give an honest look at what recovery has been like for me, not to suggest that this is what everyone should expect. 🤍 #HipReplacementRecovery #HipReplacement #AnteriorHipReplacement #PainManagement #SticklerSyndrome

I am 7 weeks post op anterior hip replacement. I had a knee replacement 3 years ago. People say “ the hip is easier than the knee”. That’s bull. My hip was the most painful thing I’ve ever had in my life. It was excruciating. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. At the 6 week mark I turned the corner! Today I feel great. No pain at all. PT helped immensely! Best of luck on your recovery.

The first week was terrible for pain. I was on norco, aspirin, nausea meds and lots of ice ( wish I had invested in a cold machine)that’s it. After the first week the pain has been manageable with just ibuprofen. I’m currently 13 days post op

Thank you for sharing. It’s a breath of fresh air knowing not all people fly right through it. The pain is real. I’m very happy for you that the new meds are helping. Rest my friend and Ice baby!!! ❤️

I had minimal pain for my first but more pain for my second replacement. So I think each one is so different

I researched it you have to stay ahead of pain meds cause it takes like 20 minutes to take affect….. ICE 24/7 first week or two was severe pain

I totally agree either way you everybody told me it was an easy surgery. I don’t think so the pain was so bad the first 2 weeks. I wasn’t expecting that

I had a lot of pain. I’m on week 5. Last week I had 3 days where it hurt super bad to step on it but it went away. I have been on journax for like 5 months before my surgery because I’ve been on so much pain. The pharmacy denied my tramidol refill once 🤦🏼‍♀️I have had a rough time too!
