" waterproof" is a grey marketing strategy.. It's tarnish resistant with proper care. It can be worn in water and chemicals but you do have to offer it some proper maintenance and love too. any chemicals ie chlorine will always tanish it, and sand will create oxidation on the jewelry and consumer.
