its bc you sprayed and rolled which creates different finishes. also needed to prime before painting

Miss Erin :
We did a grey primer on our ceiling before painting it a dark colour - maybe try that? It’s what our neighbour (who is a painter) told us to do.

Please wear a respirator or safety mask while sanding like that and spraying. You don’t want any of that in your lungs. Otherwise I’m obsessed with the color!!

For brass - believe it or not Ketchup. Coat it in ketchup and let it sit 15-20 min and wipe off with damp microfiber cloth. The acidity in the ketchup makes it super shiny. You can also mix flour, white vinegar, and baking soda.

Search for the woman who did the paint comparison. She found that Valspar won the competition between 5 other paints.

It’s not the paint brand, it’s that you used a flat paint. That along with ceilings being almost always imperfect due to how hard they are to create a completely flat even surface, which is why you usually see that they have some texture to hide the imperfections. I believe you also stated you sanded some spots, so your texture will be different. You can respray with even strokes in the same directions, but with a flat dark color you will still see those spots. A light color will hid them better, but not be the vibe you’re looking for. Embrace the imperfections, or seek a professional for additional tips. The color is beautiful, I would ignore the imperfections and enjoy the cozy feel you get after the sun starts to set. I’m sure it’s a wonderful space especially in the evening.

Girl I promise you it’s the cashmere paint!!! Omg, I picked up 5 gallons of it for my house and every wall was crazy steaky and took 3 coats. I switched to duration for the rest of my house and the difference was night and day! That cashmere is terrible

I had the same troubles with my walls, when I rolled them I wasn’t going in one vertical line at a time. The technique is very important. One strip top to bottom, fully saturated in paint and overlapping! I painted 2 rooms that had it, then used a diff technique and the 3rd was perfect.

I painted my entire house in Sherwin Williams and I regret it. I am constantly touching up, and ii see all my brush strokes. Try Benjamin Moore or something for your next room.

Use flotrol. It’s a paint conditioner that’ll remove roller marks.

By the way, I bought the paint sprayer thank you so much for that. And I can’t wait to do literally what you’re doing room by room. I’ve started with the outside, so I’m ready to move indoors.

probably used the wrong paint and roller. if you sprayed some and rolled others that will also cause textural differences. also should have sanded the ceiling first and primed
