That’s a great tractor! One that I would have rebuilt totally. After the farm. Dad & started restoration business. Would never scrap these. Not expensive to rebuild, hold their value. I redid many cabs also. Put new shoes on also. Better / stronger HP than a lot of newer stuff.

I have a 4850 front wheel assist just like that, it was mechanically in good shape, had to go through all the fluids and seals on some cylinders and pan gasket, it is a good tractor, has 13,000 hrs on it, it didn’t like to start in cold weather but hardly need it then

My dad had a 4850 back in the early 90s. He and one of our employees said they thought it was the most HP to the ground of anything he ever had. He’d had a pretty nice 4960 and a 8300 after but they both thought the 4850 was a stouder tractor
