@solaglocal: The sounds of a trickle and a creek break! And @chad stickney SHREDDING! 😎🤙🏼 - #SoLagLocal #CreekChronicles - for those who don’t know. - Breaching of this sand berm to release this mixture of high tide ocean water and urban runoff is GOOD here. By doing this it prevents mosquitos from breeding, flooding, meandering flow, property damage, flooding of the pedestrian tunnel and prevents harmful bacteria growth in stagnant water. - The longer this water sits stagnant behind this sand berm the more harmful bacteria grows. 100% of this water ends up in the ocean at some point. So by simply speeding up the inevitable it prevents a lot of public health concerns, mosquitos, flooding and other documented problems. - Nobody riding the wave today, to everyone saying I do this only for the wave. BREAK THE BERM - DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES! - The lies are as follows: (This is Illegal here, Keeping this water behind this berm is good, We're destroying the environment, Polluting the ocean, We're bad people etc...) Sometimes the city needs to use their D4 CAT Bulldozer to breach the berm and build up the sand bank on both sides to prevent meandering. Sometimes the public or wave riders use their hands and shovels. - I will continue to document the TRUTH about this and show video proof of everything. This isn't the problem. The problem is upstream where all of the money and focus should be. This is the worst area for an "Estuary Restoration". Please read between the lines and see that this is a "beautification project" NOT about environment restoration. Plus destroying the habitat already used by the endangered western pacific pocket mouse is a bad idea also. NO! ESTUARY RESTORATION PROJECT IS - PRO ENVIRONMENT.

For the people that asked why, it’s because stagnant water grows bacteria and things that you don’t want it to. Being able to release water that’s not supposed to be in an area makes the environment healthier.
