When in doubt, check with your OT or paed first.   Meet Bella and Fred.  And Texas 🐶 who really wanted to be involved (as you can hear!)   Fred is 9 months old and what you're watching here looks like pure chaos. It is also one of the best things Bella could be doing for his sensory system right now. Here's what's actually happening.   The throwing and swinging: His vestibular system - the sense that tells his brain where his body is in space - is getting an absolute workout. This is how babies develop balance, coordination and spatial awareness. The impact of landing - softly on a couch - gives his proprioceptive system deep pressure input. That's the sense that helps him feel calm, grounded and regulated. His core is firing. His body is learning where it begins and ends. All of it. From being thrown on a couch.   But here's what I love most. Bella is counting. She's narrating. She's making eye contact. She's playing. And Fred's laugh is the best sound in the world. That laugh? That's connection. That's co-regulation. That's a nervous system that feels completely safe.   You don't need equipment. You don't need a therapy gym. You need exactly this.
