I’ve never in my 30 years of living seen any Haitian woman put citrus 🍋🟩 like you said in rice. Better yet I’ve never even seen citrus epis period. Please keep your card and we will keep ours it’s not that serious everyone cooks differently there’s no specific way to cook and that’s for every culture.

My mother is from Grand Goave. Never has she ever put citrus in épis. Citrus is used for cleaning. She uses sour orange to clean the meat used for griot. How do you make your épis?

People do their epices differently. if you don't put green epices in your rice, you are not a true Haitien. Of course groot and rice and beans should have epices in it

I don’t put citrus in mine, I make only one spice for everything. When I put it in meat I added citrus directly into the meat after the hot water depending on what type of meat.
