as a fellow pet owner this is absolutely heartbreaking, my pets have never lived outdoors or lived with anyone beside my husband + kids. We went away once and they were both petrified, my cat hid and refused to come out but would cry. We talk to them now and let them be involved in packing to avoid the trauma but it truly has an effect on our furry family members they have the brain capacity of a toddler...
