My entire family exists today because one woman chose to have her baby. During World War II, my great-grandma was told that if she carried her baby to term, she likely wouldn't survive childbirth. She went home that day and told no one about her condition or prognosis. Later that month, her husband was sent overseas. She gave birth alone in a hospital. Her heart stopped, and she was pronounced clinically dead before being resuscitated. Afterward, she said God told her to go back. That day, both she and her baby survived. Because of that decision, my family exists today. I choose to believe it was part of God's plan. You don't have to share my beliefs, and I respect that. But I believe this decision belongs to the mother. Women aren't factories that can simply "make another" child. If it ever came down to it, I'd rather a new life take my place than lose the life that's already here.

Ask him if he ready to be the only parent to that baby and the other children if they have them already…he would change his opinion real fast. It’s not even close to being the same thing as choosing an older child over someone.

Just looked it up. The percentage of pregnancy terminations due to choosing between the life of the mother and the child or somewhere between less than 1% to 3%. Why are we pretending that the minuscule percentage is the majority?
