People who get dogs like Belgian malinois, German shepherds, pitbulls, rottweilers, etc. that can’t control them or train them piss me TF off. They should not be as popular as they are with regular people.

she was equipped for emergency. Unfortunately that emergency was being caught on fire, not stopping her dog from attacking people. But if she’d been on fire, she would’ve been ready and handled that like a champ!

as you should tbh. as someone whos worked with dogs and training now for the last 8 years, I can't understand or condone how many people buy these high energy high stress working breeds and do 0 work with them and can't manage or handle them. your dogs should generally always be leashed in public and if you have a reactive or aggressive dog it's your personal responsibility to manage its triggers and outside time responsibly. I love dogs like Mals etc, but they demand a lot of work. they are not meant for casual ownership. and regardless of breed, if you can't handle and manage your dog and keep them and your community safe, then you don't need a dog in the first place. I'm a massive advocate for problematic dogs but that also includes recognizing when some are lost causes and need to be rehomed or in more drastic cases, euthanized. this should have never happened in the first place

The stop, drop and roll lady? Literally don't get why she still lets it off the leash if it happened before 💀 And I totally get you, it's her fault if she lets it off leash when she can't control it

I got attacked by a huge dog named Gunner when I was a kid and am terrified of big dogs. THEY ARE FUCKING DANGEROUS! and people get WORKING dogs, hunting dogs, shepherd dogs and think raising them in a 600sqft apartment is fine, and then have the gall to make fun of chihuahuas. yeah, if a dog comes up on my and my Chihuahua that dog is not gonna make it out.

How is that dog still a problem? It should’ve been taken away. It could literally attach a child!

So many dog owners are annoying af. Entitled and act like their dog’s behavior is the public’s responsibility and problem. Why am I walking into a damn grocery store and your aggressive Cane Corso is walking down the cereal aisle????

I train German shepherds and I won’t own a malinois. I have the knowledge but they require sooo much time. They require time and professional training

I have two German shepherds, one of them I could not trust out by themselves. So know what he gets in walks? A muzzle, because I'm not irresponsible and I know for fact my dog is incredibly protective. Genuinely if someone dog treated my dog like that, it's getting put down and you shouldn't be able to own a dog

EXACTLY ! I was raised around dogs and have been attacked by them (I'm ok now don't worry). Dogs are dangerous. And I have serious fatigue around irresponsible dog owners.

People don’t even pretend to look into the needs of their dogs. Unless you have the time to spend with them outside EVERY DAY that they need, you don’t get a working breed. Especially one like a malinois and especially in an apartment

I used to have a border collie mix, half and half, if you are not willing to dedicate the time, attention patience and money, yes, money, you're gonna be spending a lot on them, to keeping a working/sporting dog not only healthy in body but in mind as well, don't fucking get one. I don't care how popular or cool they are. You have to be just as active as them. I haven't looked forward to getting another dog since my last one died back in '21 because I refuse to have another unless I can take care of them as good if not better than I did her. She lived and died a big happy puppy because I centered my lifestyle around her needs. You cannot keep that driven of a dog cooped up inside and expect them to not go stir crazy. She had failed her dog and others by neglecting that pooch as much as she has.

grew up with dogs too and my biggest hot take is you should need a license to own any animal but especially dogs and training classes need to be mandatory. dogs are predators, even small ones. you need to train them or don't get a dog.

I've had big dogs all my life, and I've never had any issues, because I CONTROL MY DOGS. These people are so irresponsible.

When I was 15 and walking home from the store with my Tibetan Spaniel, Buddy, we got attacked by a Rottweiler who I guess guarded the tow truck yard up the street from my house. That’s when I learned to always have my dog on a leash in case I need to escape quickly.
