I honestly thought I was the only one concerned about this. I remember when we were kids: whenever something happened, the girls were the ones who received advice, correction, and guidance, while the boys were often ignored. Many of them even saw that freedom as something to be proud of. Years later, we're surprised when some of those same boys struggle to take on responsibility. Maybe it's because we spent so much time preparing girls for adulthood while assuming boys would somehow figure it out on their own. Both boys and girls need guidance, discipline, and values. Responsibility isn't automatic—it's taught.
