These videos were taken a year apart! After quitting my full-time early childhood educator job because of Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW), my whole lifestyle changed. I wasn’t walking as much, lifting kids, or running around all day like before. Slowly, the weight crept on. All my life I’d been the “skinny girl who eats like an elephant,” so it hit me hard. I actually didn’t realise it at first, but soon my body felt heavier, and I looked different in photos. Gaining weight isn’t necessarily bad, but it just didn’t feel right for me. When I moved to a new city to study nutrition, I lost a bit from stress and PTSD, but then I fell into eating a lot of junk food and gained it back. I just didn’t feel good. That’s when I decided to actually look at my health properly. Before, I thought the gym alone would fix everything. But studying nutrition taught me that if you really want long-term change, you need to nourish your body too. So I focused on small, sustainable habits that actually felt doable. Now I’m back to my pre-TSW weight, but more importantly, I feel like myself again. I feel confident not just because of how I look, but because I’m keeping the promises I made to myself.
