@edwardmakumb1: Only honeybees die after stinging, because their barbed stinger gets lodged in skin and tears away from their body when they pull back. Wasps, bumblebees, and most solitary bee species (which make up over 90% of the 20,000+ known bee species worldwide) can sting repeatedly without dying. Another myth worth killing: bees don't "attack" for fun, stinging is a last-resort defense mechanism that costs the honeybee her life, so she's not going out of her way to sting you at a picnic. If you see a bee near your food, it's investigating, not hunting. Respect the hive, and it won't come looking for a fight. #BeeMythBusting #bee #SaveTheBees #Nature #BeeAthletic
