If you’re looking at starting the gym again or from scratch this is what I’d do: 3 simple things 1️⃣ Go to the gym 2/3 times a week max (to start with) 2/3 times a week at the start is plenty. This is an amount that you can be consistent with, you don’t want to start going 6 times a week now when you have motivation because what happens when that motivation fades and you can’t be bothered anymore… 2/3 times a week, upper lower split or PPL and that’s all you need. 2️⃣ spend 1 hour maximum in the gym. People who start going to the gym often try to go for ages at a time thinking the longer they go, the more progress they make. Let me be the one to tell you, that’s just wrong. Often the first 30-45 mins are the most productive then concentration goes and the quality becomes poor. Go for up to an hour, focus on the quality of reps and you will see so much more progress! 3️⃣ Clean up your diet to less processed foods What I’ve seen with new starters or people getting back into the gym is they get straight into a diet plan and follow it for a month then give up. There’s no habit that has been built to keep them going. First clean up what food you are eating and get used to that, then you can get more specific to what you eat and diet. But first get the healthy eating habit in place before you start to restrict loads! If you are new to the gym and want more advice feel free to reach out or give me a follow for more tips like this! #training #tips #gym
