My first was exactly like your baby, he’s nearly 3 and has just started sleeping through the night. There’s no such thing as bad habits, if it works for you thats all that matters. My second is 14mths and has slept through the night since 4mths old - it’s all temperament, it’s not what you are/aren’t doing x

It’s never a bad habit to respond to your babies needs ❤️it’s literally how they are designed to communicate their needs to us and it fosters a healthy and robust attachment. He’ll get there in his own time ❤️floor beds are amazing we will do the same with our LO

Daytime naps really do lead to better nighttime sleep. Hoping you don’t minimize naps too much.

Your doing an amazing job , every child is different. The best sleep we all get is co-sleeping with my 13 month old and she can sleep in my bed till whenever she wants .

GF I’ve been theeeeere. After trying all the things, despite sleep deprivation we are SO happy with how responsiveness we were during the night knowing we didnt create sleep anxiety within her & one day, at 2 years old, she just… slept…

I’ve had a similar journey to you (from what I can gather) just personal experience get a double or king single floor bed if you can. I got a single and it’s insanely amazing, changed our life but it’s still squishy and can be back breaking but not the worst. My 6foot1 partner needs more space. Just a suggestion. You’re doing amazing mumma

Getting a floor bed was the best decision for us!! We got it at 14 months and he sleeps so much better.

A floor bed has been a life saver for us! That plus less day sleep. My 13 month old is a low sleep needs fomo baby, still co sleeps, still has a bottle overnight, still wakes overnight (mostly only once now). We do one nap a day 1.5hr max. Bedtime at 8:30pm. We still sometimes get 3am - 5:30am wake ups but agreed, that’s better than multiple wakes, with hours of shhing/rocking etc (also sleep training failed for us 3 times)

Mumma knows best 😉🧡 you do what you need to do babe. This is why I ended up co sleeping with my 3rd… Trust me when I say the love, compassion and safety you provide for him is most important 🧡

You are such a great mum, I went through this with my son. He’s 2.5 years old now, still has a nap for 1-1.5 hours in the day - I lay with him before he goes to sleep at night and we chat, and he then sleeps through the night. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, I promise. We did very similar, gentle sleep training and meeting their sleep needs and it worked for us too ✨ you’re doing amazing! Sleep anxiety is SO real and terrifying, and you won’t even know yourself once this period is over ❤️

Responding to your child when they’re communicating with you and providing them love, attention and a secure attachment is NOT a bad habit. Nothing is a problem, unless it’s a problem for you.

I hate the “you’re creating a bad habit “ comment that anyone gives me! Every baby is different, some can sleep on their own(amazing !) some can’t and they need help- no matter what you try!

My baby sounds very very similar to what you’ve experienced with tide! He’s around the same age (currently 14 months and was breastfed) and genuinely nothing helped Jo matter what we tried! Once we dropped our naps to one day nap, after we helped him through cat napping it helped heaps. To begin with he would catnap and it would be hell. We would have to go in, pat him to sleep and we did the Ferber method but instead stayed close by and patted him. This ended up working for us to help him connect his day naps to longer stints. Now he sleeps 7.30pm - 5.45am and has one 1 - 1.5hour nap throughout the day. I feel for you, it’s so hard to learn our babies needs, especially when they’re constantly changing with sleep!

Sorry I know you’re probably over the recommendations but my son was a shocker of a sleeper (only co sleeping helped us get some) we transitioned him into a floor bed at 14 months and I hope you have a good experience like we did, he went from co sleeping every night to sleeping in his own room, if he has wakes we can do and co sleep in his room or sneak out and it’s been sooo much better then a crib! We never sleep trained he puts himself to sleep with us just laying next to him after reading, some nights he doesn’t need us, some nights he does and it’s so much better when you can lay with them without having to constantly get up back and forth and kill your back with the crib! You’re doing an amazing job, sleep deprivation is tough, don’t wish it upon anyone
