Here’s what I mean 👇🏼 I have spent the last 3+ years learning how to manage my anxiety and work with my brain so I can be a functioning human and not be in mental anguish. And these last couple weeks have been so so hard on my brain. I will admit, it’s a little difficult when your business is tied to social media, because sometimes I wish I could disconnect from it completely. So if you are struggling with your anxiety because of world right now, here are some questions to start asking that will help flip from emotional thinking to logical thinking (and anxiety has a harder time taking root when we can be logical) 1. “Why do you feel comfortable saying that?” Do you know how many times in the last weeks I have been called a moron for sharing perspectives? -but when I retort with this question instead of firing back with a statement it is forcing their hand to say why they think it’s appropriate to be disrespectful. And a lot of the time it will brake that behavior 2. “Is this from a reliable source?”- don’t tell people, ask them! Make them think if they are using reliable information/facts or sharing opinions. 3. What can I control?- now this is for you to ask yourself- there is a lot of stuff out of our control right now, and it’s hard for people with anxiety to back away from control. But truly think- what am I in control of? I can stop scrolling, I can take a walk outside, I can write my representatives, I can choose how I respond. Asking questions starts conversations to deeper understanding. And we may not like what we find out, but it’s easier to figure out then what we can control.
