@seaworldaus: Sound up! 🔊 Did you know dolphins have a variety of different vocalisations that all mean different things? 🐬 🗣️ The loud vocalisations that we hear on the surface actually come from the blowhole, often confused with coming from the mouth! 🤭 The squeaks and squarks are loud, playful sounds that are caused by air being expelled from the blowhole. 💨 The muscles around the trachea constrict and release the pipe making a variety of sounds - similar to letting air out of a balloon! 🎈 Their different vocalisations teach us so much about how they are reacting to the world around them! 💙
