He is a teenager surrounded and aided by the Cursed Spirit of Rika Orimoto , his childhood friend who died six years before the events of the story and was cursed because the two had promised to marry when they grew up. During his adolescence, Yuta meets Satoru Gojo , a Jujutsu sorcerer who guides him to enroll in Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School to control Rika's curse.
