The reason we say Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Messi is that Ronaldo is originally European, and Europe is the home of world football. Messi is South American. He came to Europe to build his football career and became the player he is today. So, if you say Messi is better than Ronaldo simply because he won the World Cup, I don't think that's a convincing argument. The FIFA World Cup is comparable to the UEFA European Championship (EURO), which Ronaldo won in 2016. Everyone knows how competitive the EURO is. In the World Cup, you can end up in a group with teams like Jordan, Algeria, Nigeria, or South Africa. But at the EURO, you regularly face top teams such as Spain, Germany, England, and France. That is why some people even consider the EURO to be as difficult as, or even tougher than, the World Cup. Pelé never played club football in Europe, yet he won three World Cups. So, if the World Cup alone is the reason you believe Messi is better than Ronaldo and Pelé, then that logic doesn't make sense to me. Just accept it—Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT. 🐐⚽
