@grande_americano: Who knew meeting, falling in love with and marrying an English girl was going to be so complicated. 😏 #atexaninengland #longdistancelove #marriedintheUK #UKimmigrationtips #lifeintheUK
Also married here in 2021, just got my ILR a few months back and now just letting my bank account exist before spending more money on citizenship 😂

My son (UK) just married his American wife a couple of days ago in Vegas. He’s coming home without her until they can figure things out. It’s not easy is it?

My situation breaks my heart. 5 years with a Floridian, I’m in UK. He’s still married though, but seperated for 6 years. And he is, before anyone says, he moved states even, and I’ve been with him plenty. But, we can’t marry and have no way to bridge the distance. I get so jealous of others journeys, not in a bitter way though. I just want to be with my man 🥲🥲🥲

Have you done the 'Life in the UK'test yet? Just found out Tracy had to do it, 2 weeks before her visa runs out!

We (UK/US couple) looked at the options and the easiest option was to get married in Las Vegas as there are no visa requirements in Clark County like there are in the rest of the US and the UK. And even including the flights it was cheaper. Can definitely recommend to anyone else wanting to do this

It’s the same process for anyone getting married in the UK, we all have to talk to the registrar first. Seeing the partners separately and doing the quiz is standard, but actually that once helped a friend of mine who was basically being forced to marry - she was able to tell them.

Married a Brit here in us. Visa process cost about 10 grand. Took about 6 months for his conditional visa.

could you go over the type of questions they ask during the interview? this is what I am most worried about as someone who has a condition that inhibits my memory when it comes to certain things (I really struggle with putting names to people, remembering addresses, etc. for example) I wanna know how to prepare or if im just kinda screwed?

I brought my partner over and we got married in Colorado it was so easy that way. Now my move to the Uk under spousal visa was a huge expense undertaking!

That’s crazy. I didn’t realise it was so complicated to marry here. Me and my wife married in Texas when I first visited after talking 2 years. It cost me $68 for our marriage license. lol. My father-in-laws wife was a PA for a big judge in the county. So arranged for us to be married at the courthouse. It didn’t cost us anything. I didn’t have to apply for anything. Go through any interviews. It was so easy. Our plan was always for her to move to the U.K. but it was considered legal here. So it all worked out for the best for us.

My husband (then Fiancé) had to go through so many hoops to get to the UK. That was so many years ago now though, things have got more expensive since then.
