Also didn’t you say in your list of nice to haves that you liked a man who knew how to enjoy, then you gave the example of meat? Doesn’t this mean you actually enjoy meat instead of this ED story

i’m sorry about some of the comments you’re receiving. you shouldn’t have to justify and defend your choice. these people preach about caring for animals lives yet are asking you to put your own life at risk… which is not okay

This reminds me so much of the phrase that everyone celebrates the openess when it comes to mental health and wants to support it - but only if it's far enough away from them and their own life.

Thank you for clarifying and responding to my comment. You’re touching on a very important issue here that most of us vegans face every day - the key challenge is not to be vegan on our own accord, it’s to exist in a world that is not very vegan friendly. I also sympathise a lot with people that don’t feel they can live vegan because of health. As someone that engages in vegan discourse, I tend to hold back when people mention their personal health as a barrier - cause I’m not them and I don’t live in their body. With that being said, there are loads of misconceptions around health and veganism more broadly (not related to ED) that I hope we can collectively rectify. Respectfully, you lost me a bit towards the end - criticising activists for being ‘militant’ and ‘radical’. Many vegans are passionate about the topic because we advocate for the liberation of animals and the abolition of oppression. If this was about female liberation from a feminist perspective, would you also call women militant? I don’t think so. On the contrary, couldn’t we say that the systemic abu$e of animals, and the normalisation of that, is truly what’s actually radical? I understand that some vegans will use very triggering language, and granted, that isn’t always that effective when trying to convince people - but there is a clear reason why many activists try to hold people accountable for their actions. I hope you don’t block me because I point this out. I still enjoy your videos and hearing your perspectives. To me, it seems this discussion triggers something in you - without sounding patronising, I’d encourage you to stay curious about those emotions.

hello i’m not writing this to make myself feel better or saying that we are going through the same thing to justify myself in a way but i can totally understand what you mean. i was vegan for 2 years of my life and vegetarian for 4 and i started to eat meat again five months ago because i struggled with my body image for almost my entire life and had a bad relationship with food and eating. and being in a strict diet and mentally not being able to constantly plan and make various meals made me eat only certain meals. and i would literally eat pasta every single day and every time i decided to diet i would only eat salad. and that constant cycle made me very weak and unhealthy. so something i do for ethical, emotional and for health reasons turn into something completely opposite so i stopped for now and instead focused on what my body needs atm. i still cannot say that my relationship with food is best but i started working out and moving more and focusing on getting stronger and i’ve lost some weight and gained muscle in the process so. just wanted to thank you for being so transparent. i was really stuck into my guilt. and i still believe in veganism and all that and i might go back to it in the future but for now i’m only trying my best

Sadly this is the mentality of most of the “radical” morally pure left, which you have claimed to be a part of

I actually love you for that, i went Vegan cause of the restrictive point, and tried to tell everyone i'm Vegan cause of the animals and stuff but actually my eating disorder liked the fact that i had another excuse to restrict myself. And when people started to make Vegan cakes and stuff for me i realised i just went Vegan cause of my ed, cause i still didn't ate the cake even tho it's vegan.
