This MINI came into the workshop because the customer believed it simply needed a window calibration. But before any diagnostics began, Alex spotted something that didn’t look quite right. The glass was sitting slightly lower than it should, the inner seal wasn’t positioned correctly, and there were subtle marks around the rear quarter panel that suggested the window had previously been removed. It’s likely the vehicle has had paintwork or body repairs in the past, and the glass wasn’t refitted correctly. The result? Excessive wind noise, poor sealing and a window that never quite closes as it should. We’ll be stripping everything back, correctly resetting the glass and recalibrating the window so it operates exactly as it should. 👀 The takeaway? When you’re viewing a used car, don’t just look at the obvious things. Check the panel gaps, window alignment, seals and trim. Small clues like these can reveal previous repairs that might otherwise go unnoticed. Not every repair is a bad repair—but poor workmanship is something you’ll want to spot before you buy.
