tôi hơi lười dịch sang tiếng Anh nên tôi sẽ giải thích bằng tiếng Việt cơ bản là bởi vì trước đây các loại thịt của động vật thì được tầng lớp quý tộc và cả người dân ăn trong khi người dân dùng tiếng Anh cổ thì những quý tộc lại dùng các cái từ như kiểu beef hay là pork Tuy nhiên gà lại là loài gia cầm chỉ được những người nông dân chăn nuôi và ăn nên nó chỉ dùng đúng cái danh từ chicken thui 😁(có gì sai sót xin góp ý tại than khảo nhiều nguồn)

if i remember it was back in Medieval Times, the king of normandy conquered England, and of course being French, they used French Words for The Animals they ate (Boeuf, Porc, Mouton, And Venaison) Chicken was left out mainly because it wasnt A Luxury Food at The Time. but I may be wrong.

Chicken meat is called "chicken" because it escaped a major linguistic split that occurred after the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. Following the invasion, French-speaking Norman aristocrats became the ruling class, while Anglo-Saxon peasants continued to raise the livestock. This created a culinary division where the live farm animals retained their Germanic, Old English names used by the farmers (like cow and pig), while the served meat took on the French names preferred by the wealthy elite at the dinner table (turning boeuf into beef and porc into pork). However, because chickens were inexpensive, highly accessible, and eaten regularly by both the poor and the rich, the Old English word cicen (originally meaning "young bird") remained universal. As a result, the French culinary term (poulet) never managed to completely replace the native name, leaving us with a bird that shares the exact same name whether it is clucking in a yard or served on a plate.

here's the answer- back in the 1700-1800ths england the noble liked eating deer, cow, sheep, and pig so they called it beef, venison, mutton, and pork but chicken wasn't it was because the peasants always ate chicken making the nobles think chicken is for the poor so they only named it "chicken" and deer, cow, sheep, and pigs is named venison, mutton, pork, and beef because "it's for the wealthy"

so the story goes back years back in France they use the old French word for the meat of the animal cow=beef sheep=mutton dear=venison pigs=pork these meats were considered a high standards meat in France years ago but chicken was considered peasant food so is just chicken. (I don't know how to write French sorry)
