When you’ve struggled with mental health, stress etc your entire life, travelling feels like you finally get to be the person you could have always been. When 2 friends and I went travelling, when we landed home after 5 months, they were ecstatic, I cried. They’ve never had depression, anxiety, paranoia etc whereas I have since I was 5 (now 30), they had the privilege of getting to go back to life and still love that version of them, whereas for me, it was like coming home to an abusive version of myself.
