It messes you up for real. You get smacked with the realization that it isn’t given and a lot of men don’t believe they should be doing stuff at home and with children.

Exactly. I stayed with my parents this summer and to be surrounded by them being in love and other family members in love reminded me of why I’m so in love with being in love. That’s all I know because that’s what they prioritized and exemplified.

My parents made me want marriage so bad, theirs looks like true partnership. I don’t think i’ll ever find anything that comes close, though. Not in this generation. ☹️

My parents were older. They had me at 37 and 41. They were a unit. My dad was ill, but they both had careers and shared the workload. So it’s annoying to see people try to live by some structure based on gender roles. No thank you!

THIS!! I love being married & bring a mom. It’s 100% because my husband pours so much into my cup AND he’s my equal partner.

Same with me and my wife…… I’m pretty sure I make most of the money, but I still call her to see if I can get it. 😂😂😂

On the opposite end, my mom and dad had 50/50 custody. I saw both of them do everything (hair, cooking, lawn maintenance, etc). I want a partner who shares the load or I’ll do it myself

Lowkey marriage success kinda depends on how their parents raise them, cause coming from a haitian household hold my parents raised me not to give chores and house work a gender but i know other people i know parents that make only the girls clean

Would you feel the same if your dad told your mom what she can and cant buy despite her sharing the workload equally?
