This is how Sasha explained before - Why did this happen? The truth is, the kindergarten wasn't just collecting money for a single school bag. They were asking parents to contribute toward everything—gifts for the teacher and teaching assistants, presents for the children, candy, the party, and other necessary supplies. The total amount was quite substantial, and my mother was raising me on her own after her divorce. My father didn't pay any child support, so my mother had to shoulder every expense by herself. The amount the kindergarten requested was simply far beyond what she could afford, so she wasn't able to contribute to the collection. Instead, my mother prepared candy for the teachers herself rather than participating in the group fund. She also made my dress by hand. While the other children wore expensive rented dresses, my mother stayed up late sewing one herself so that I, too, could wear a beautiful dress to the party.

As a teacher this is absolute the worst thing to a student. If you know the parents haven’t brought a gift for the child, you rush out and buy something for the child. That’s what it means to be a teacher. 💔

No …I hate the teacher for doing that to her. She knew the little girl wasn’t getting a gift she should have wrapped something doesn’t matter if it was 50 cents of a dollar but give the baby something.

this is why I specifically ask teachers in my son's class if there's another student I can pay the way for for field trips, class games, and supply donations for them. I don't ever know who gets it or what but I know his class won't miss out like I did as a kiddo. 😭 babies don't know and moms shouldnt shoulder that weight alone in a village.

in my first year on school they brought us on a field trip to a pet farm, i was 5 and they had a bunch as baby kittens and puppies. everyone else got to hold and take pictures with them except me for some reason. i feel her

I remember a girl who bullied me stole a doll I got gifted in the kindergarden and my parents laughed it off (I wonder if my parents played a hand in it too this day)

It was a school event where parents had to pay for the gift, the school prepares gifts only if your parents paid for it. Her father left when she was around 4. Her mom did the best to provide for her,working many jobs, even till the end.
