Horizons isn’t a side anime. It’s a main anime that takes place after Ash's story ends. Just because Ash isn’t here doesn’t mean it’s not main. And Horizons has an objective that gets clearer when you watch it more. Just because it’s not focused on the same repetitive gym badge league formula doesn’t mean that it lacks a goal. And the series is great it works pretty well without Ash.

1st, horizons isn't a side anime. it's a main anime but takes place after ash's story finished. 2nd, horizons isn't a bad story. its just nostalgia thats blinding you. ash had such a huge inpact to the story that it makes u think that any story without him is trash, without even looking at the new characters and their own storys.
