This movie was always so creepy to me.. even decades ago, beeing a teenager. And that scene with jeez on her hair is so disgusting. I didn't understand it at first, as I was way too young and when I did it grossed me out.

To be fair, Ted did take accountability and admitted that what he did was wrong. He tracked down Mary’s ex-boyfriend (who she had dumped because of lies other men had told her), and it turned out he was a professional sportsman. Ted told Mary, “He’s the man for you,” and walked away, hoping she would be happy even if it wasn’t with him.In the end, Mary still chose Ted because, despite the stalking behaviour, he was the person she truly wanted. He was a writer, so he had the flexibility she said she wanted in a partner, and he genuinely got on with her brother. You can see that in the way Warren trusted him enough to let Ted touch his headphones.I’m not saying I agree with the stalking behaviour at all, but I can understand why the film was trying to show Ted as the right person for Mary by the end.
