I started at Cass and finished at Cooley. My friends who remained at Cass participated in onsite admissions with MSU, UM etc… while Cooley administration fed us to the Armed Forces recruiters every damn day. I was lucky to have a mom who was educated and could navigate school, so I had other opportunities, but that was very rare in my school community, so I 100% approve of this message.

I started at Cass and graduated from Cooley. I had a lot of VERY dedicated teachers at Cooley who made sure that I applied and was accepted to the colleges of my choice. I received my bachelor’s in 4 years after graduating from high then received a master’s degree 6 years later, and earned a doctorate degree 8 years after that. It’s not where you start but how you finish. It’s really about the drive and determination a person has within themselves to reach their goals, regardless of the high school they graduated from.

I graduated from Cass.And I definitely can attest to a difference in what is offered in DPS and school districts around the state.It is disheartening to see not all students given the same opportunity at extra curricular activities as others.
