Law & Order: Special Victims Unit – Season 10, Episode 6 ("Babes") aired on November 11, 2008. Simple plot summary (with spoilers): A homeless young man is found burned alive and castrated. Detectives Stabler and Munch investigate and trace the case to a Catholic high school. A student, Alec, confesses to attacking the victim because he believed the victim had raped his pregnant sister. However, the investigation takes a shocking turn when the sister reveals the sex was consensual. She and three of her friends had secretly made a pregnancy pact—they all wanted to get pregnant at the same time and raise their babies together. Soon after, the leader of the group, Sara, is found dead, apparently by suicide after receiving cruel online messages. At first, detectives suspect a teenage boy nicknamed Dizzer, but he has an alibi. The real culprit is eventually revealed to be Peggy Bernardi, the pregnant girl's mother. Horrified that her daughter was pregnant and desperate to stop the pregnancy pact, she impersonated Dizzer online and relentlessly cyberbullied Sara into taking her own life. She is arrested for her role in Sara's death. The episode ends on a bittersweet note: the murdered homeless man's father, despite losing his son, offers to help the pregnant teenage girl and her unborn child, choosing compassion instead of more hatred.
