1. Remove all leafs from hydrangea stems 2. Soak hydrangeas in cold water for 5/10 mins 3. Cut about 1-2 inches off the bottom of the stem in a diagonal cut & also cut a 1 inch slit. 4. Place stems in hot water & let them sit for 3ish hours!

you cant. you need the root stem so it grows roots and stays alive. also never buy from the store they are already weeks old
