I’m on day 3 of recovery. They said they didn’t think mine was endo, however, my bowels were adhered to my abdominal wall….

Take a gas x right when you get home and immediately put a heating pad on your shoulders! Also try to make yourself burp if you can. As far as recovery time, I’ll be honest girl, I didn’t go back for 6 weeks. It was hard. The fatigue after surgery is REAL. I would take the week at least. If you can, apply for short term disability through your work and you can still get paid.

I’ve had a few laps done. The surgery part is easy. Gas pains will be the worst part but just make sure you walk as much as you can because that will help! I was 19 when I had my first one (I’m 38 now) and back then I had no idea about endo. Thankfully my gyn knew what to look for. He found it in several areas and burned them out. I’ve had to have a few done because they do grow back. However, now that I’m older and have learned more I know I need to see an excision specialist. So, if they do find it be sure to see an excision specialist out as well. Good luck with everything! ❤️

I just had my second laparoscopy yesterday, the worst part is the gas that they pump into your abdomen so they can see. It’ll spread up in between your shoulder blades and my recommendation to you is make sure you have plenty of gas x, an ice pack for any swelling, a heating pad to help with gas relief and plenty of rest. My first one was on a Wednesday and I went back to work that following Monday, stretchy clothes are your friend and just keep up with your medicine until you feel like you don’t need it anymore.

Are you working with a specialist? Is the plan for a diagnostic lap or excision as well? If you’re getting excision, I don’t think 2 days off work will be enough time. I had a diagnostic lap in 2020 and the doctor only took biopsies. I did only take 2 days for that procedure. It was really hard, but I was in the middle of clinical rotations for pharmacy school and didn’t want to fall too far behind. Either way 2 days is not much time off and I’ll be honest, it might be hard. Things that helped me- a belly binder, heating pads so I could put 1 on my shoulders/back and one on my abdomen, staying on top of pain meds initially, eating plenty of protein to aid in healing, walking as much and as often as I could (especially initially to get rid of the gas), and a bowel regimen is really important. Constipation after a surgery like this can be really awful!! I hope everything goes well for you! 🫂 💛

I’m 5 days post op. I had a laparoscopy and ended up finding stage three endometriosis. The doctor was only able to remove 90% of it. The nausea and gas pains afterwards are the absolute worst people warned me, but I still was not prepared. Make sure you ask for Zofran or other anti-nausea medicine also make sure you have Gas-X on hand get two heating pads, one for your stomach and one for your shoulders. You will have excruciating gas pain in your shoulders. Also, remember to bring your nausea medicine with you to the hospital. You can take it as soon as you’re done with your surgery.

All the videos I watched had me so nervous about recovery! It ended being not too bad for me. Ice packs and heating pad on and off really really helped with the soreness. Your body heals so much when you are sleeping, so rest as much as you can. Unfortunately if you have a job where you’re standing up, you may need more time off. I was out and about 3/4 days post op and felt okay, but I over did it and the next week was incredibly exhausted.

Hey! I have a laparoscopy in 2 weeks to remove massive cysts on both ovaries and they’re going to check for endo as well. I get the fear because me too! From what I’ve heard from most of my friends and family members is that the gas pains in your shoulders can be uncomfortable and painful and that it’s best to get up and walk around as much as possible to stay loose and work the gas out too.

My doctor said I could be back at work after 3 days (but I work in an office), and essentially no “pelvic” activity for 1 week (sex, tampons, exercise). He’s taking the minimally invasive approach and said the incisions are so small, they heal pretty fast. Not sure about your doctor, but I’m sending good vibes!!!!

You got this! Recovery: I feel like you will need a few more days than that. If you’re nervous tell them, they can push anxiety meds into your IV, I didn’t even get to the anesthesia portion I was already out. Walk walk walk! Hydrate! Eat when you take the pain pills. Heating pads (one for shoulder and one for stomach), gasx, ginger ale, peppermint tea. Ask for a an anti nausea patch before surgery to prevent the nausea for after

Oh honey, I totally get that anxiety you're feeling before surgery 🫂 It's so normal to be scared. I wish I'd had Endora then to export a symptom recap for my doctor, it helps so much. 💛

I was mortified I panicked before they took me to the back for pre op and when I woke up I felt like the pain was worse but I thought just normal healing but the meds didn’t help doctor didn’t prescribe stronger meds so I just sat in pain mostly then progressively got worse turns out I have a 7cm cyst that wasn’t there on my ovary before surgery but grew in a span of two weeks and was blocking a kidney stone… hopefully your luck isn’t like mine but I haven’t been able to talk to my gynecologist since finding out… also had DIE on my cul de sac

thought of another tip! Walk around. Once you’re able to, start going for 30 min walks, if u can start that now is great too or longer walks if you can is great too! Walking helps a lot in my experience. Same with pelvic floor physical therapy which is where i learned that 🥰
