Yall have to understand, demons do a lot of close combat. Not being good at close combat could cost a mage their life. Fern is different because of course she was trained by Frieren herself & they have their own methods

And then there's Fern an embodiment of glass cannon. Mind you she's still a teenager and reaching stratosphere killing demons from above. I'm not surprised that one day she'll randomly blast a whole country of demons.
