You know that little voice that keeps saying... I'll think about all of that once the baby's here That was me. I was so busy planning for my baby... I completely forgot to plan for what happened after. I assumed we'd just make maternity pay work. I assumed I'd somehow be ready to go back to work when the time came. Then one day... It hit me. There were only a few weeks of maternity leave left. I remember looking at my little girl thinking... I'm not ready 💔 I wasn’t ready to leave her To miss out on the milestones and cuddles But I felt like I had no choice. Looking back now... The thing I left too late wasn't buying the baby bits. It wasn't packing my hospital bag or getting the nursery ready It was giving myself the chance to learn something that could've created me options. So when I found out I was pregnant again... I knew I wasn't making that mistake twice! So I started learning about digital products and Canva. Things like planners, checklists, invitations etc Not because I knew it would work... But because I couldn't bear the thought of reaching the end of another maternity leave feeling like I had no choice again. That one decision has since allowed me to extend my maternity leave, reduce my working hours and build something that fits around my family. And the truth is I wasn't scared of going back to work...
