I had some mad frustration back in the Days. I bought the Darksiders Collector's Edition (Hellbook Edition) ~2010 for PC and the Game wasn't on the DVD. 😦 Only the OST & Artbook PDF as well as an installer for STEAM and a License Key. Mind you, this is a 100% Offline Game with 0% Internet requirement. 😐 I bought it especially for that reason. This was so unnecessary and it had me avoid STEAM for a good decade. 😅

you hit the nail on the head but also missed a point and sorta fell into the "not all men" style argument, yes you can play a bunch of games without ever connecting your console to the internet but there are games you need to connect to the internet to play, that's where the licence on a disc comes from, at least with Nintendo they don't hide it in some small print on the back
