Dude, to all of you new FRESHIES!! Please trust me, it’s not that bad. Yes, some middle school friendships may distance or grow apart, but that’s if you let everything around you get to them. You’re going to join sports, participate in after school clubs, make NEW friends, but that’s not a reason to put down what you’ve built with those you kept around your childhood. Highschool is big and loud, but let you drive yourself to be bigger and louder. Don’t shy away, don’t hide or “lock in” to where people done even know your name, you live once. Go on and yell ontop of that lunch table or cuss out whoever picks on you, let this part of your life be an experience. Go out with your friends, your new friends, create and cherish this one year that you shouldn’t ever forget simply because you were too nervous to be new again. They won’t target you or bully you, for christs sake you guys it’s 2026 😭.. yeah sure people will make jokes about you being a freshman or point it out but trust me that’s no reason to not be anyone’s friend. As a now sophomore, my freshman year was amazing, because i let myself be myself and people found me for that. Don’t hush that kid in you from elementary and middle school, let them scream louder as you’re growing up.

my advice from somebody who was dumped this summer and a sophomore: don't date. i mean it. i know "teenage love" and my experience was beautiful but i had poor grades and freshman year for me was just a buzz. if you want to date around, go for it, just make sure to balance love and school and friends and whatnot. do not depend so deeply on a highschool love, it hurts like a bitch when it ends
