This seems like CIA propaganda, I'm sure he did make the model, but it's too convenient in how it maps to problems the US state had when they settled him as Schuman. To call it the Soviet model is also subversive. There is no way he could have extensively researched these concepts with the stated time frames in his time at the KGB, so at best this is just his assertion without research.

The KGB created purposeful disinformation campaigns known as “active measures”, still used today by the Kremlin. Ion Mehai Pacepe also spoke on this, though he was controversial. Mass bot campaigns, yellow journalism etc. etc. One can see this adopted across the political spectrum in many ways today.

I think too many people view this as the outside force doing it in favor of one group over another, but it’s ideological agnostic. The goal is to break the country, not for one side to come out of top. They pit each ideological pole against the other to topple power. So as much as we should look at the other side we should be examining how this is being amplified in our own.
