Why are some people in these comments acting like were calling for STEM to be defunded 😭 STEM is incredibly important and it’s STILL underfunded, it needs more funding too, theyre jus making a fun tiktok about how arts is funded even less.

The buildings may be new because of private donations, but anything the school pays for, like lab equipment, is ancient and broken. They also raise tuition every year because it's a "high cost" major. It sucks ngl

ah yes uni please do spend thousands on painting that building that looked entirely fine beforehand meanwhile ill contonue to share this one sewing machine with 3 people all doing theor final project for uni and using a mannequin that keeps collapsing with a frame duck taped together

You have to keep in mind that if your school is doing research, STEM programs are actually bringing in funding for the school and is likely why the school is more willing to update facilities

As a STEM girlie: you guys got it wrong. If non-engineering STEM (STM?) departments have anything nice, it was almost certainly an outside grant that was lovingly sought by a dedicated professor and not actual funding from the school. Engineering, I'll give you, though.
