I work in childcare. I run the two’s room. I can’t tell you how many countless videos I’ve seen come across my FYP about teacher burnout, but this is real and this is happening and I know for a fact that I have it and I just wish that these directors and people that own these daycare would realize.

it's the ratio count, it's the families, it's the stress of other coworkers behaviors, it's upsetting because you fall for those kids and then your blamed for feeling hurt or lost, and like you said burned out.

I gave my two weeks last week! They knew it was coming so when I walked in with my letter she took it, threw it on her desk and said “I’m not reading this.” And in my head I said “and this is why I’m leaving…” I’m burnt out and want to work normal hours with more pay. It’s not the kids that are the problem!

Agree and director and assistant director would rather see you fail than them coming into helping and support you to be a better teacher. I just got let go two days ago because apparently I am not good to manage a two year-old classroom and mind you I had stuff for them to do every day. It’s not my fault that they run around THEYRE 2!!!

its the lack of support the co worker drama the parents who are assholes , kids woth serious behavior issues. Also, somebody needs to take a serious look at childcare workers and their mental health. I taught first of all I just let you know I taught for 30+ years I left right when Covid had started for disability reasons, but also mental health reasons. While I was at the center, I worked at last my coworker committed suicide. She had serious needed to be addressed family issues that she tried to get addressed with our director and staffing issues that she felt very overwhelmed by, but there was also personal stuff too, but it was accelerated by her workplace. Kim was a dedicated wonderful teacher and her ask for help was ignored. And she felt so overwhelmed that she took her life. And then the handling of her suicide by my administrators was deplorable. Someday I’ll make a video about it because I think it would do a great big help for many but that situation still to this day six years later hurts my heart because I know they did harm to her and they did harm to me and my coworkers by handling her suicide the way they did. But it’s no joke. Childcare workers are 100% mistreated, abused, and valued by many administrations that they were for and these large corporate childcare industry is absolutely atrocious and harmful because it is lead by people that want to make a profit. There cannot be profit in the caring of humans and that goes for prisons that goes for hospitals that goes for childcare. And if you look at it automatically, these are industries where people are caring for human beings and are in consistent places where administrators can take advantage and abuse individuals that are employed by under them. So I support you getting out, which is sad. I have my bachelors degree in really childhood. I was an amazing teacher. Early childhood education gave me away that I could raise my children and be a mother, but also make money where I still got to be parenting. But these teachers are not given the tools that they need they’re often working and conditions that are long hours with no oversight

I left years ago to be a nanny and now I get paid to travel internationally, have a 3 hour break everyday where I read my book on a balcony, run my errands when I want with my little buddy tagging along, make WAY more money, and I’m building a house off my solo income.

I have cerebral palsy. And worked at a daycare, and told them I couldn’t lift the babies and kept being put in that room with them, and also kept being asked to stay longer than I was supposed to. And didn’t have another way home. So they expected me to pay $40 for a Lyft home. They also expected me to come in when I was sick because they couldn’t find coverage
