Penelope did not cheat with Hermes, that was a different Penelope not Odysseus’ wife

Isnt that Roman version of Penelope? Because Ulysses(idk if I said it right) instead of him being loyal he cheats I assume? Idk 💔

i don't think that's true, pan is a child of Hermes in one myth but in the other (which we have more proof that it is probably true) Pan is older then Hermes and was before Hermes even existed and was the original Hermes

These was the Roman version of the tale. The Romans who claimed decent from the Troyians would make up stories making Penelope look bad

I'm rather surprised that there isn't more discussion about Odysseus's return being about his clearing away all the other dudes who were texting with his wife while she was away. I feel like Odysseus's party trick of shooting an arrow through loops has long been seen as a fairly surface metaphorical demonstration of his virility in his older age.

true but the second one is historically accurate, Pan was from Mycenae greece while Hermes didn't come till later

108 suitors, 540 doors of Valhalla, 72 virgins. the geometry tells you more than the tale. Penelope is the central anima

Different Penelope. Also, Odysseus doesn't have a leg to stand on considering he shacked up different women on his long journey home.
