Interesting idea but I disagree slightly. Lack of sexual access may be frustrating for men who desire it, but it doesn't necessarily make them violent, nor is it the sole cause of male violence. Was sexual opportunity an at least subconscious motivating factor for some? Probably. But those with the gumption to set sail would have been chaddy enough to step out of their comfort zone and probably by extension weren't struggling for sexual access at home. Maybe they just wanted more or were bored of what was on offer at home? I think when we think incel we think of the virgin in the "virgin vs chad" meme, which doesn't tally with the intrepid seafarer archetype. Passport bro maybe, but not incel, at least not in the truest sense.

The same seems to have applied in Finland as well. We had a similar hierarchy where only the eldest son inherited the familys estate if there was any as well as the family reputation and lands, leaving the other children with nothing. As a result many younger men sought fame and honor through violence.

Don’t listen to the guy in your comments saying incels are radical and commit crimes, or they hate females. An incel (involuntary celibate) is someone who actively seeks to lose his celibacy. If he wouldn’t actively seek to lose his celibacy he would be considered a volcel (voluntarily celibate) so an incel cannot be a misogynist all the so called misogynistic incels are just volcels. Because someone who actively seeks to lose his celibacy cannot be misogynistic it lowers his chances of losing his celibacy so it goes against the idea of involuntary

Totally agree, the majority of all school shooters if not all are incels. Like the berserk warrior they were ruthless and killed innocent people and went on many raids , but they were also very isolated and looked down upon by society at that time. And i think an incel and a berserker is very similar in a weird way.

I would just assume a propensity for violence was an evolutionary advantage, men are violent for violences sake, that's just how we are born

@rapedape24:I would say yes and also no. It was often men who were young and unmarried. Often landless and poor compared to their landed peers. But they were also accompanied by a few more experienced and wealthier people (Boats were certainly NOT cheap). Even family members, brothers, fathers, cousins, often went along. going on raids was an incredible opportunity for a lot of people to gather resources and build wealth. But these raids were not done out of purely material reasons. The Norse, much like most of pre-Christian Europe, had raiding traditions that can be reasonably traced back even as far as the Neolithic and a overall culture that emphasized the martial.
